Where is purchased art shipped from?
Since shipping is the seller’s responsibility and since sellers can be anywhere in the world, art can be shipped from anywhere in the world, wherever the seller is located. Artgallery.org is only a venue and is not responsible for shipping.
When does a buyer pay for the shipping costs?
Once you place your order, the seller will provide you with the shipping costs. If you choose to decline the shipping costs, then your order will be canceled and you will not owe the seller anything. However, if you accept the shipping costs, the procedure for payment will be initiated. Either your credit card will be processed or you can mail your check to the seller. Artgallery.org is only a venue and is not responsible for shipping.
How should a seller package the art for shipping?
There is no hard and fast rule around that, but you use your best judgment when packaging art for shipment. You should provide maximum protection to the art so that it will reach the buyer in perfect condition. Use multi-layers like paper wrap, saran wrap, or some material that can protect the art from minor abrasions and ink transfers, etc. Finally, you should put it in a strong box surrounding the item with at least 3 inches of foam bedding on all sides. Also be sure to securely tape every corner of the box. Take advice from packaging experts like courier companies in your area. Artgallery.org is only a venue and is not responsible for shipping.
Is the art shipped through any particular shipping company?
No, the shipping company (e.g UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, etc) used for shipping the order is the choice of the seller. However, if you would like to receive a shipment through a shipping company of your choice, you should contact the seller. Artgallery.org requires shipping instruction listed on Seller profile! As a seller, you should notify your preferred means of shipping on your profile-whether it be UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL. Also Buyer and seller can use a mutally agreed upon shipping company. You should also notify other restrictions like “shipping only within my country” or “no shipping outside the U.S. on your seller profile. Artgallery.org is only a venue and is not responsible for shipping.
Does a seller have to ship an order as soon as the order is accepted?
Definitely yes because federal law requires that items should be shipped the same day a buyer is charged. As soon as you accept an order, a buyer is charged. Artgallery.org is only a venue and is not responsible for shipping.
Should a seller provide a tracking number when an item is shipped?
Although Artgallery.org is only a venue and not responsible for shipping, we highly recommend that the seller provides a tracking number. This allows both parties track the shipment.
How can a potential buyer be notified that a seller will only ship within his/her own country?
It is the seller’s responsibility to have all relevant information in his/her profile. Since Artgallery.org is only a venue and not responsible for shipping, it will not dictate how a seller should conduct transactions. However, if a seller only ships in a particular country, that should be noted in the seller profile so that any confusion at a later stage is avoided.
